Chaka Khan Apologizes For Adele, Mariah Carey Dis

Chaka Khan would like to apologize for some of the comments she made about a couple of today’s hitmakers. The “I Feel For You” songstress took to Instagram Sunday to backpedal on some shade she threw at Adele and Mariah Carey on The Originals Podcast recently.
The singer posted a promo picture of herself on Instagram and wrote "Recently, I was asked about a list of the 'greatest singers of all time' and instead of questioning the need for such a list, I was pitted against other artists and I took the bait. As artists, we are unfairly put into 'boxes', 'categories' or on 'lists.' Being an artist or musician is not a competition. It’s a gift, for which I am truly grateful."
She continued "It was not my intention to cause pain or upset anyone. To anyone that felt this way, I sincerely apologize. Thank you for all the love everyone has shown me, unconditionally. I have always been about empowering others and I started a foundation for that very purpose. I will be announcing soon."
As we previously reported, when going through the list of Rolling Stones’ 200 best singers of all time, Khan seemed outraged that Carey ranked so well, accusing the singer of dabbling in “payola”. When told that R&B singer Mary J. Blige ranked four spots ahead of her, Khan screamed that the people who put her at number 25 were “blind” and needed “hearing aids.” And as for Adele coming in at number 22, Khan dismissively whispered, "OK, I quit."
