Elton John Wants To Work More With Britney Spears, But In Person

After their duet of “Hold Me Closer” back in August, Elton John says he wants to make more music with Britney Spears - but this time, in person.

John’s manager and husband David Furnish told People, “He would love to work more with her, and actually work in person with her, because she was in L.A. and he was in London and it was recorded that way.”

“Hold Me Closer,” a reimagining of John’s hit “Tiny Dancer,” was Britney Spears’ first music release in six years. Furnish told People that the collaboration was his idea, thinking “‘Wouldn’t this be great to let Britney take a baby step to get her foot[ing] back, and if she wants to continue to go forward, that’s her decision to make. She can pick up the phone and speak to Elton about it at any time.”

Though Elton John is embarking on his final tour, this isn’t the end for The Rocketman. Furnish hopes he’ll take up a “small residency,” and continue to perform at smaller venues and mentor younger artists. Maybe another Britney collab is on the horizon!
