Paul McCartney To Release Solo Albums As Box Set, Gets Birthday Wishes As He Turns 80

Paul McCartney’s three solo albums are being packaged together into one box set. The “McCartney I II III” box set, dropping August 5th, will include his eponymous career-spanning solo albums, 1970's “McCartney,” 1980's “McCartney II,” and 2020's “McCartney III.”

It will be available in three formats, Limited Edition Color Vinyl, Black Vinyl, and CD. Each will feature three special photo prints with notes from Paul about each album.

  • Meanwhile, McCartney, who is set to headline the Glastonbury Festival next weekend, turned 80 this past weekend and received several messages from his fellow musicians, including his Beatles bandmate Ringo Starr. “They say it’s your birthday Saturday happy birthday Paul,” he shared, “love you man have a great day peace and love Ringo and Barbara love love peace and love.”
  • And John Lennon’s son Sean shared a cover of “Here, There and Everywhere" in honor of Paul. "A little birdy told me this was one of [your] fav Beatles tunes," he wrote to Paul. "So Happy Birthday! Thank you for all the beautiful music. You have mine and the whole world’s undying love and respect. (This version is a bit rough because it’s such a pretty song I kept getting choked up...!)"
  • Paul later shared a message of thanks for the wishes, writing, “Thanks for all the lovely greetings and warm wishes for my birthday – Paul”
