Staying active is important for both our physical and mental health and living somewhere that encourages that is the best way to do it. Some places offer a wide range of leisure activities, making it easier to maintain an active lifestyle and a new report reveals where they are. WalletHub has just come out with their list of 2023’s Best and Worst Cities for Recreation.

  • They compared the 100 largest U.S. cities on 48 key metrics in the categories of entertainment & recreational facilities, cost of living, quality of parks and weather.
  • Las Vegas, Nevada, tops the list as the best city for recreation overall, coming in at number two for entertainment and recreational facilities and in the top 20 for weather.
  • Orlando, Florida, which is second overall, is number one for entertainment and recreation, while New York City is first for quality of parks, and Riverside, California, is first for weather.
  • On the other end of the spectrum, Chula Vista, California, is the worst city for recreation, coming in 97th for costs and 99th for entertainment and recreational facilities.
