In response to rumors and questions about rocker Alanis Morissette’s absence from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the “Jagged Little Pill” singer has hit back at the entire industry. Formerly scheduled to sing a duet of “You’re So Vain” with Olivia Rodrigo honoring Carly Simon, Alanis was taken off the final schedule and Rodrigo sang solo.

Morissette explained her absence in a statement, calling the event “an environment that reduces women.” She went on to describe how in similar situations she had “sucked it up on more occasions than I can count.”

And while Alanis praised Rodrigo, Simon and other female artists participating in the Hall of Fame, the musician declared that she no longer needs to be involved in such events but that she will “continue to show up in (inclusive) environment(s) with bells on.”
