If you thought the Beach Boys had gone out of style, you can think again. At least that’s the story the ratings for the band’s CBS special tells us.
“A GRAMMY Salute To The Beach Boys,” which aired this past Sunday night, raked in 5.18 million viewers, which easily won its time slot and came in second broadcast viewing of the entire night. The only show to beat The Beach Boys special? Veteran news program, and regular Sunday night champion, “60 Minutes.”
Among the guests that honored The Beach Boys were John Legend, Brandi Carlile, Fall Out Boy, Mumford & Sons and Weezer. Fellow music legends Bruce Springsteen and Elton John made appearances alongside Hollywood icon Tom Hanks.
