Bono is getting ready to release his new memoir “Surrender: 40 Songs, One Story” on November 1st, and he’s just shared a new excerpt with fans.

The U2 frontman shared the piece in honor of his and wife Ali’s 40th anniversary yesterday, with Bono recalling the song “Come On Eileen” playing on the radio at his father's home the morning they tied the knot.

The excerpt was accompanied by illustrations by Bono himself. Check it out to the right.

  • As we previously told you, “Surrender” will have Bono recounting his life growing up in Dublin, as well as his humanitarian work and more. Each of the 40 chapters of the book will be named after a different U2 song, with personal drawings Bono created for the book.
