Brian May is among those around the world tuning into the Tokyo Olympics. The guitarist has taken to Instagram to react to the opening ceremony.
Brian says he’s “feeling very moved and proud” that Queen’s song “Teo Torriatte (Let Us Cling Together)” kicked off the sporting event. The 1976 song played as the torch entered the stadium, complete with some lyrics in Japanese.
“I’m feeling very moved and proud. That my song, and the original Queen recording of it should be used for such an iconic moment in Japan is an amazing honour for us,” Brian writes. “Thank you dear friends. Wishing you a joyful and healthy celebration of athletic talent.” Check out the post below.
