Brian May says heart medication almost cost him his life last year. In a new interview, the Queen guitarist opens up about his recovery from cardiac surgery in 2020.
Looking back, Brian says the whole thing feels “unreal.” Out of everything he went through, he says “the worst feeling” was “all the strange medicines” he had to take after the procedure, which were “very, very dangerous” and messed with his stomach.
"It was pretty shocking, and I got very sick. I was really bad. There were a couple of points during that whole sequence of events when I couldn't walk,” he adds. "My wife was a lifesaver with her cooking and just looking after me. I don't think I would have survived without her doing what she did."
