Chrissie Hynde Releasing An Album Of Bob Dylan Covers

Chrissie Hynde is channeling Bob Dylan. The Pretenders frontwoman just announced she’s dropping a new album of Dylan covers on May 21st, and got the help of her Pretenders bandmate James Walbourne to record it.
The album, “Standing in the Doorway: Chrissie Hynde Sings Bob Dylan,” has her covering such classics as “The Summertime,” “You’re a Big Girl Now,” “Tomorrow is a Long Time,” “Standing In The Doorway” and more.
“Whatever Bob does, he still manages somewhere in there to make you laugh because as much as anything, he’s a comedian,” Chrissie shares. “He’s always funny and always has something to say. I called James and said, ‘Let’s do some Dylan covers,’ and that’s what started this whole thing.”
- In addition, a documentary on the making of the album is set to air later this month. “Tomorrow is a Long Time” will debut May 24th at 9 pm on Sky Arts. Check out a preview to the right and click here to pre-order the album.
