After reportedly being thrifted for just $4 in Ontario, Canada, a rare painting by David Bowie is expected to sell for more than 10,000 times that amount at auction.

After buying the “semi-abstract portrait,” the unnamed thrifter realized it was a Bowie after seeing his signature on the back. Now, auction house Cowley Abbott has put the 1997 painting on the block, and there are already over $40,000.

Bowie is said to have painted around 47 similar pieces in the 90s. Bidding ends June 24th – check out the auction HERE.
