It turns out David Bowie fans could have heard more from Ziggy Stardust. Video game designer Phil Campbell says the late icon was thinking of buying up old satellites to relaunch his alter ego into space.

At the time, Bowie was scoring the music to the 1999 video game “Omikron: The Nomad Soul.” Campbell says he and Bowie had talked about buying satellites orbiting the earth so Ziggy could “beam us transmissions.” Bowie also apparently wanted to make leave of his alter ego in the video game and “come out as David Jones.”

“We talked about buying up a bunch of old satellites that were circling the Earth and he was going to relaunch Ziggy from space,” Campbell says. “The idea was that Ziggy would beam us transmissions – ‘Are you receiving me…?'”
