Et tu, Sir Paul McCartney? Just as the music world- and tv, film and literature industries- are pushing back against the emergence of AI in art and entertainment, one of rock’s greatest figures has revealed he’s using the bots to help him bring to life what is sure to be a major moment in music.
Paul McCartney has admitted he employed AI to produce one final Beatles album. "When we came to make what will be the last Beatles record, it was a demo that John (Lennon) had that we worked on," he explained. "We were able to take John's voice and get it pure through this AI so that then we could mix the record as you would normally do. So there's a good side to it and then a scary side and we'll just have to see where that leads."
Sir Paul said "Beatles: Get Back" documentary director Peter Jackson, who it should be noted is part of the Directors’ Guild Of America that is on the verge of approving Hollywood’s first AI negotiation with studios, showed the remaining Beatles how to use AI in music. McCartney says the album will be released sometime this year.
