Today is a big day for INXS. It was 45 years ago today that the Aussie band The Farriss Brothers, who would go on to be renamed INXS, played their debut gig at a house party in Wale Beach, Sydney and now they are celebrating the milestone.

Today has been declared world INXS Day, with Petrol Records, Universal Music Group and Rhino Records expected to announce some special releases for the occasion. The day will kick off with an hour-long TikTok livestream, featuring interviews with the band, in celebration of the 35th anniversary of their classic album “Kick.”

Other upcoming celebrations include a deluxe digital boxset of their album “Shabooh Shoobah” in October in honor of its 40th anniversary. In addition a nine-track live set of “Live At The US Festival,” recorded May 28th, 1983 in San Bernardino California, will officially be released in October. Details are also coming about the release of INXS’ “The Very Best” mixed in Dolby Atmos.

And that’s not it, this month INXS is celebrating the 30th anniversary of 1992’s “Welcome To Wherever You are,” with the release of five videos on their YouTube channel, all upgraded to HD for the first time.
