Jimmy Buffet To Get His Own Day In Florida: As we previously told you, Florida reps recently made a push to give beloved late rocker Jimmy Buffett his own highway. Well, why stop there? The Florida legislature has now declared August 30th will now be known as “Jimmy Buffett Day” in the state. The honor has been declared to celebrate “the life and music of Jimmy Buffett, whose free-spirited life and significant contributions to national and state culture are commended and celebrated.” The “Margaritaville” singer passed away on September 1st of last year.
