Joni Mitchell Named MusiCares Person Of The Year

Joni Mitchell is about to be bestowed with quite an honor. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer has been named the 2022 MusiCares Person of the Year.

"I’m honored to be chosen as person of the year by this great charity,” Joni said in a statement. “I look forward to being part of this gala that will help MusiCares continue their inspired work in providing a support system for those in need.” 

Mitchell, who is also set to receive the Kennedy Center Honors in December, will be honored with the MusicCares award from the Recording Academy at the annual gala on January 29^th.

• Previous MusiCares Person of the Year honorees include: Aerosmith Dolly Parton, Sir Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Stevie Wonder, Billy Joel Paul Simon, Fleetwood Mac and Aretha Franklin.
