Journey Release New Single From Upcoming Album

Journey's releasing a new studio album this summer! This is the first in over a decade. Titled "Freedom," it's set to drop on July 8. They've also shared a new single from the album, "You Got The Best Of Me." Neal Schon, Jonathan Cain, and Arnel Pineda are all part of the album, along with Randy Jackson on bass, who played on Journey's "Raised On Radio" album from 1986.

Schon shared, “I wanted kind of a punky rendition of [1980 single] Any Way You Want It. I usually don't go in saying I'm going to look for something like that, but then it just came to me, like Wheel in the Sky did years ago. It just kind of flew out of my mouth.”

He also shared how the album came about.  "During the pandemic, there wasn’t much to do. I spent a lot of time in my little studio at home, learning how to play keyboards and looping. Some of those ideas ended up being songs. So it kind of came out of nowhere."
