Kate Bush Thrilled About "Stranger Things" Reviving Her Classic

Thanks to “Stranger Things” using Kate Bush’s 1985 classic “Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God),” the song is having a moment and the singer is thrilled. As we told you, the fourth season of the hit Netflix show features the decades-old song and it’s led to a streaming surge and newfound popularity.

In a rare public statement, the British singer talks about her excitement for the renewed interest in her hit. “You might’ve heard that the first part of the fantastic, gripping new series of “Stranger Things” has recently been released on Netflix,” Bush writes in a statement on her website. “It features the song, ‘Running Up That Hill’ which is being given a whole new lease of life by the young fans who love the show — I love it too!”

She writes that because of the show, her song is charting around the world and has entered the UK chart at number eight, and adds, “It’s all really exciting.” Bush also thanks everyone who has supported the song and writes that she’s waiting “with bated breath for the rest of the series in July.”
