Kennedy Center Honorees Hit White House Before ‘Induction’

President Joe Biden is celebrating five celebrities for their contributions to American culture through the arts Kennedy Center Honors. While the gala was held last night, the group was first welcomed at the White House - Biden addressed each of them personally, praising their individual talents.

This year’s honorees included actor George Clooney, singers Amy Grant and Gladys Knight, composer Tania Leon, and rock group U2. This year marked the 45th Kennedy Center Honors – and it’s set to air on CBS December 28th at 8pm ET.

"Growing up in a small town in Kentucky I could never have imagined that someday I’d be the one sitting in the balcony at the Kennedy Center Honors,” Clooney said in a statement. “To be mentioned in the same breath with the rest of these incredible artists is an honor.”
