Wrapping things up is in the near future for Mary J. Blige. In a new interview published this week by “EXTRA,” the R&B icon said she’s looking to retire from the music industry in “five or six years.” That doesn’t mean she’s going away, though, because Blige says she’s “gonna do some more acting.” What are her plans until she retires? “I’m still doing what I’m doing but not as often as I was doing it because I don’t have to now.”
Got to hand it to her…as a 2024 inductee for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, she’s at the top of the game, but she says she figured out what’s important. She told “EXTRA,” “My real love is me and I found it.”
