This year marks the 40th anniversary of Michael Jackson’s classic album “Thriller” and Sony Music and the late singer’s Estate are celebrating with a new double CD set.
In conjunction with what would have been Michael’s 64th birthday yesterday, it was announced that “Michael Jackson Thriller 40” will be dropping November 18th, featuring Michael’s original album, along with a bonus CD of rarities and demos. The titles of the 10 bonus tracks will be revealed one at a time starting after Labor Day. The digital version of the release will also include 15 additional tracks that were previously only in limited release.
And the release isn’t the only way the “Thriller” anniversary will be celebrated. There are also plans for pop up events and worldwide activations in connection with the anniversary.
- Meanwhile, some members Michael’s family took to social media to pay tribute to him on his birthday.
- "Happy birthday to the greatest! Miss you more and more but I love you more and more with each day," Michael’s 25-year-old son Prince wrote on his Instagram Story. "Thank you for everything 🙌🏼❤️."
- Daughter Paris posted a pic of her as a toddler kissing her dad, simply writing, “hbd ♥️."
