Mike Campbell Performs Tom Petty Songs At Solo Concert

Heartbreakers guitarist Mike Campbell is currently on a solo tour with his band The Dirty Knobs and he isn’t forgetting his past with Tom Petty.

While the concert features songs from his 2020 album “Wreckless Abandon” and the new release “External Combustion,” he does perform some Petty and the Heartbreakers classics. The concert hit Brooklyn, New York this week, with Mike performing a stripped down version of “Refugee,” “Southern Accents” and “You Got Lucky.”

“This song was written so long ago and is so poignant to me,” he told the crowd before “Refugee,” “It ties into everything going on in the world right now. We’d like to do this for you, and Ukraine, and for my lost brother Tom, who wrote this with me.”
