Nancy Wilson will pay tribute to the late Eddie Van Halen on her upcoming solo album. In a new interview, the Heart rocker says the instrumental song “For Edward” is dedicated to the late Van Halen legend… revealing she was “the first one to ever give him an acoustic guitar.”

“Early the next morning, in the hotel, he rang my room and he played for me this beautiful piece of acoustic guitar instrumental music on the phone,” she recalls. “I was so touched, it was one of the prettiest things I'd ever heard. So I tried to return the favor by making a beautiful little tribute to him.”

The new album, reportedly titled “You and Me,” is due for release later this year. So far, Nancy has revealed that the tracklist includes covers of Bruce SpringsteenSimon & Garfunkel, and Pearl Jam, and feature guest appearances by Sammy Hagar, Duff McKagan and Taylor Hawkins.
