Nominees for the 63rd Annual GRAMMY Awards were announced yesterday, and while no classic rock acts were recognized in any major categories, some stars did receive nominations.
Paul McCartney and The Grateful Dead were both recognized in the Best Boxed or Special Limited Edition Package category, while David Byrne’s “American Utopia” was nominated for Best Musical Theater Album. In addition, ZZ Top and Linda Ronstadt both received a nod in the Best Music Film category.
One of the most iconic rock legends was on the receiving end of a major GRAMMY snub. Many experts felt that Bob Dylan would be recognized this year for “Rough and Rowdy Ways," his first album in 12 years, but he received no nominations at all.
The 63rd Annual GRAMMY Awards, which will be hosted by Trevor Noah, will air January 31st on CBS. Check out some of the nominees below and click here for the complete list.
