Paul McCartney just released the star-studded collection “McCartney III Imagined,” featuring interpretations of tracks from his solo album “McCartney III.” In a new interview, Paul says he was “shocked in a very pleasant way” by the contributions to the remix album.
“McCartney III Imagined” features the likes of Idris Elba, Gorillaz’ Damon Albarn, St. Vincent, Josh Homme, Beck and more. Paul says that receiving the artists’ interpretations of his music was like getting a bunch of “Christmas gifts.”
"I thought it might be a nice idea to just ask some other people to remix and just reimagine them,” he explains. "Some shocked me in a very pleasant way, because I had no feelings as to what they ought to do."
