Paul Simon is hearing voices. Actually, it’s more like he’s listening to his dreams. Either way, rock fans are grateful as the singer/songwriter recently discussed one of the sources of his music- and specifically his new album, “Seven Palms.”

"The dream said, 'You're working on a piece called 'Seven Psalms,'" admitted the singer, who said after a particular dream he woke up and started writing. "I would start to wake up two or three times a week between 3:30 and 5:00 in the morning, and words would come. I'd write 'em down and start to put it together."

Simon even suggested that whatever is driving his unconscious inspiration has always been there. “When I wrote 'The Sound of Silence' and I was 23 years old, that was probably the same kind of phenomenon,” he confessed. “Seven Psalms” was released in May.
