Chaka Khan has feelings about Rolling Stone’s “200 Greatest Singers of All Time” list and she’s making them known. The list, which went up over two months ago, was brought to her attention by “The Originals” podcast host Andrew Goldman. And though Chaka found some of the singers acceptable, she wasn’t so keen on hitmakers like Mariah Carey and Adele.

Kahn herself landed squarely at number 29. She paid plenty of R-E-S-P-E-C-T to Aretha Franklin, who took the top spot. She also had kind words for Ray Charles, Beyonce and Whitney Houston. But things took a turn when she found out which singers came in ahead of her. When Goldman informed Khan that Mariah Carey came in at number five, she quickly chalked the rating up to “payola”. And when Adele was revealed to be number 22, Khan replied in defeated manner, “Ok, I quit.”

However, the “I Feel For You” singer saved much of her rage for R&B singer Mary J. Blige. When it was revealed that Blige came in 4 places ahead of Khan, she accused the critics of needing “hearing aids”.
