You may recall that Steven Tyler previously revealed he had recorded a cover of the classic Rolling Stones track “Brown Sugar.” Now, he’s finally unveiled the cover, which will be featured on an upcoming star-studded album honoring the song’s birthplace, FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama.

In the wake of FAME studios founder Rick Hall’s passing back in January, it’s been revealed that a slew of music legends and rockers including Tyler, Willie Nelson, Grace Potter, Chris Stapleton and more have teamed up with Hall’s son Rodney Hall and producer Keith Stegall to re-record songs paying tribute to the Muscle Shoals sound. It’s all for the upcoming compilation “Muscle Shoals… Small Town, Big Sound,” which honors the late Rick Hall and celebrates the legendary studio’s 60th anniversary. Hear Tyler’s tribute to the right along with a trailer for the new album.

  • A cut of the proceeds from record sales will benefit the GRAMMY Foundation and the Muscle Shoals Music Foundation. Tyler’s “Brown Sugar” cover is available as an instant download for fans who pre-orderthe album starting today.
