Stevie Nicks has opened up about being the only woman inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame twice. Appearing on “CBS Sunday Morning,” Stevie said she “definitely broke a big rock n’ roll glass ceiling.”
Stevie says her and Fleetwood Mac bandmate Chrstine McVie “made a pact” from the start that they’d demand the same respect their male colleagues got in the music industry. But it turns out they never had to “stand up and say, ‘this party’s over’ and walk out,” because Fleetwood Mac plenty of recognition, and so did Stevie with her big milestone for women in rock n’ roll.
“It’s 22 men that are in twice for their solo work and being in a band and no women,” she said. “Until me. So I feel that I definitely broke a big rock n’ roll glass ceiling.”
