The Delfonics lead singer dies: A Philly soul legend is gone. William “Poogie” Hart, frontman of the group The Delfonics, died Thursday at the age of 77, due to complications from surgery. He was hospitalized prior at Temple University due to breathing issues. The Delfonics rose to fame in the late 60s/early 70s, and were best known for such songs as “La – La – Means I Love You” and “Didn’t I (Blow Your Mind This Time).” They won a GRAMMY in 1971 for R&B vocal performance by a duo or group for their song “Didn’t I.”
