Michael Jackson’s estate and Sony Music have been in an ongoing battle over three posthumously released songs that Sony claims Michael didn’t actually sing on. Well, interestingly, three songs from that 2010 release have suddenly disappeared off streaming services.
The three songs in question, “Monster” (featuring 50 Cent), “Keep Your Head Up” and “Breaking News,” appeared on the 10-track record “Michael,” but now only seven of the songs are still streaming on Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube Music.
But a spokesperson for the Estate insists the song’s removal “had nothing to do with their authenticity.” “The Estate and Sony Music believe the continuing conversation about the tracks is distracting the fan community and casual Michael Jackson listeners from focusing their attention where it should be,” reads the statement, “on Michael’s legendary and deep music catalogue.”
