As we told you, Bruce Springsteen fans have been furious after they were shut out of tickets to his upcoming E Street Band tour, thanks to Ticketmaster’s “Dynamic Pricing,” which jacked up the price of some tickets to almost $5,000. Well, in response to the outcry, Ticketmaster is trying to defend itself, insisting very few tickets are going for that price.
In newly released data, Ticketmaster insists that 88.2% of tickets already sold to Bruce's shows went for a fixed price, which ranged from $59.50 to $399, before service fees. They say the average price of a ticket sold is $262, with 56% selling for under $200.
As for those expensive “dynamic pricing” tickets, they insist only 1.3% of tickets have sold for over $1,000. Ticketmaster added, “Prices and formats are consistent with industry standards for top performers.”
