U2 Cover's Darlene Love Holiday Hit At Las Vegas Sphere: U2 paid homage to Darlene Love by covering “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” for the first time in almost 36 years at the Las Vegas Sphere Friday night. The band last performed the song in December of 1987 when they closed out the “Joshua Tree” tour at the Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Arizona. Fast forward to this weekend, the guys’ rehearsed the ditty during soundcheck but left if off the setlist, possibly to keep it a surprise. U2’s run of performances at The Spere kicked off September 29^th and has been extended to until March 2^nd, bringing the run to 40 total shows.
