After 41 years of no performances, ABBA fans will finally get to see the group perform again live this week… sort of.
The Swedish band’s “ABBA Voyage” concert kicks off Friday at the ABBA Arena, which was built just for the show. The venue is described as a state-of-the-art 3,000 capacity arena located at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London.
So, what will fans be seeing at the show? Well, it won’t be ABBA in person. Instead, it will feature avatars (or “Abbatars”) of band members Agnetha Fältskog, Anni-Frid Lyngstad, Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, backed by a live 10-piece band.
The show is supposed to run for seven months, with dates confirmed through December 4th.
