The eight-hour documentary directed by Peter Jackson, “Beatles: Get Back,” was announced in January to have a Blu-Ray and DVD release date of February 8th, but pre-orders were canceled because of an imperfection in the audio mix that caused the discs to have to be scrapped and remanufactured.
There’s finally a new release date for the doc on Blu-Ray and DVD…July 12th. The documentary was praised by everyone when it was released last Thanksgiving weekend on Disney+. Jackson used footage shot for the 1969 “Let It Be” movie, with a one-hour outtake of the rooftop concert released to IMAX as a one-time event.
Paul McCartney is a fan of the doc and titled his current tour “Got Back,” including an encore that opens with Sir Paul singing a duet of “I’ve Got A Feeling” with the pre-recorded video and audio of John Lennon from the rooftop concert that Jackson isolated so that McCartney could use it in concert.
