As we told you, a lone copy of Bob Dylan’s newly recorded version of “Blowin’ in the Wind” was going up for auction, and it turns out he made a lot of money on it.
The song, re-recorded with producer T Bone Burnett, was expected to sell at the Christie’s auction house in London for between $750,000 and $1.25 million, but wound up going for more - $1,769,508.
The recording, first time Dylan has re-recorded the classic tune since 1962, actually sold for 1.2-million pounds, but with added commissions the final price was 1.482-million pounds, or close to $1.8 million U.S. dollars.
So far there’s no word on the identity of the new owner.
