Bond theme creator Monty Norman diesMonty Norman, best known for being the composer of the iconic James Bond theme, passed away yesterday at the age of 94. According to his official website, he passed away “after a short illness.” Norman worked with arranger John Barry on the theme, which at the time was for the 1962 Bond film “Dr. No.” Barry later claimed he was the one who wrote it. That led to a libel lawsuit after the “Times of London” printed a story in 1997 claiming Barry was the author of the song. Normal wound up winning 30,000-pounds in the suit and said he felt vindicated.
