Bruce Springsteen was the surprise guest at a special screening of “The Legendary 1979 No Nukes Concerts” film, which features highlights of Bruce and the E Street Band performing over two nights at Madison Square Garden.
Bruce said a few remarks before the film screened, noting of the shows, “I turned 30 during the show so that was memorable.”
“The shows were kind of a big deal because we had never played on a bill with a lot of our peers so that was exciting,” The Boss shared. “It was a rare show we would play on a break, once we were recording and in the studio we rarely took gigs.”
The concerts also featured performances by Jackson Browne, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Bonnie Raitt, Jackson Browne, the Doobie Brothers and Carly Simon.
- “The Legendary 1979 No Nukes Concerts” will be available for digital download tomorrow and digital rental on November 23rd. It will also be released on DVD, CD, Blu-ray and vinyl starting Friday.
