As we told you, a legendary Prince concert is getting a deluxe vinyl and Blu-Ray release for the first time. “Prince and The Revolution: Live,” a recording of the singer’s concert at Syracuse’s Carrier Dome on March 30th, 1985, is set to drop June 3rd. Well, now fans are getting a taste of what to expect.

The Prince estate has released a clip of Prince and his band performing the megahit “1999,” with Purple One dressed in purple duster, ruffled tuxedo shirt and skintight patterned pants.

And fans will also get to enjoy the concert at home, with a press release noting the concert will be part of special programming premiering on PBS stations beginning on June 4th. Check out the performance to the right.

In other Prince news…

  • The next season of the “Official Prince Podcast” will debut May 26th, with “The Story of Prince and the Revolution: Live.” The episode will feature all five members of The Revolution, and other personnel from the tour.
  • A new book about Amy Winehouse claims Prince tried to save her from her husband Blake Fielder-Civil. The book, “My Amy: The Life We Shared,” by her friend Tyler James, claims videographer, Phil Griffin arranged to have Amy join Prince on the last night of his 2007 residency at London’s 02 Arena for a duet on her song “Love is a Losing Game.” After, they were hanging out in Prince’s dressing room, with Blake, who wound up stealing hundreds of pounds from Prince. Griffin was actually accused of the crime, and the book says he was “beaten up and turfed out the 02.”
  • Amy wound up calling and apologizing to Prince, who didn’t care about the money. But Prince wound up calling Griffin “asking if there was anything he could do to get her away from Blake … he even offered to send a plane to spirit her away.” Winehouse finally left Blake in 2009.
