Everyone knows Eddie Murphy for his hilarious stand up and big movie hits, but real fans know he also had a music career back in the day. Well, now that the youngsters have discovered Eddie’s 1985 hit-single “Party All The Time,” they’ve lost their minds.
The “Coming to America” star started trending on Twitter after @mrthrowback_mr posted a video of the Rick James-produced track. The reactions were hilarious.
- “I'm today years old when I found out Eddie Murphy was a singer.” one person tweeted.
- “Bruh this Eddie Murphy? No way, this dead an Eddie Murphy song? How am I..[I don't know] how to feel right now?” another person wrote.
While the Twitter blew up with those in shock by the discovery, there was another generation that felt pretty old.
- “Weird y’all just now hearing Eddie Murphy sing. I know I’m not old but y’all made me feel like it,” one user wrote.
- “People are just discovering Eddie Murphy's ‘Party All the Time?” another Twitter user questioned. “May I introduce you kids to someplace new? It was called the 80s... and it was awesome... You should all go back there sometime."
Apparently the viral trend also made its way to funny lady Jane Lynch, who joined the fun by tweeting, “This really happened.”
