Funk Singer Betty Davis dies: Funk singer Betty Davis, who was briefly married to Miles Davis in the late 60s, has died at the age of 77. Known for breaking boundaries, Betty had two singles land on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, 1973’s “If I’m In Luck I Might Get Picked Up” and 1975’s “Shut Off the Lights.” After her divorce from Davis she released several albums known for their sexually liberated music, including 1973’s “Betty Davis,” 1974’s “They Say I’m Different” and 1975’s “Nasty Gal.”
