Gladys Knight Honored To Be One Of This Year’s Kennedy Center Honorees

As we told you, Gladys Knight has been chosen as one of this year’s Kennedy Center Honorees, along with U2, Amy Grant, George Clooney and Tania León, and she is certainly thrilled to be selected.
“I’m humbled beyond words to be included amongst this prestigious group of individuals, both past and present,” she shares. “You could never have told me as a young girl starting my career that I would be honored on a stage such as this, with artists and humanitarians such as these -- it just wouldn’t have seemed possible”
She adds, “It would have been the dream of all dreams. I have been blessed with so much in my life and this certainly stands with those achievements at the top of that list," noting, "To be honored as a Kennedy Center Honoree is among the highlights of my career."
- The 45th Kennedy Center Honors will include a gala performance December 4th in Washington, DC featuring top entertainers and will be broadcast on CBS at a later date.
