Huey Lewis has kept his public appearances rare since being diagnosed with hearing loss. The “Power Of Love” singer is suffering from Meniere’s disease, which affects the inner ears and causes both a loss of hearing and vertigo.
But he’s found one major saving grace… he’s got a new Broadway show, “The Heart Of Rock And Roll.” “I lost my hearing seven years ago, so I can’t sing or perform,” Lewis recently confirmed. “But I can (help launch the play). And boy it’s been a salvation for me personally, and it’s really been gratifying.
Lewis called musical theater “the most demanding” but “most rewarding form of artistic expression,” and he credits that because “it’s immensely collaborative.” “The Heart Of Rock And Roll” opens on April 22nd on Broadway.
