Mark the date: October 7 - twenty-five years to the day of the release of one of the most iconic 90's albums, Janet Jackson's "The Velvet Rope" - and to celebrate, she's releasing a deluxe version of the album, with additional cuts, b-sides and remixes that make a legendary album even moreso.
With 10 new-to-platform bonus tracks available on streaming platforms for the first time, it includes two rarities, "Accept Me" and "God's Stepchild." The collection also houses multiple remixes—which were only available on CD singles prior.
What else is included? The J. Dilla (Ummah Jay Dee) remix of "Got 'Til It's Gone", and Timbaland/Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliott's remix of "Go Deep." Also included are club mixes of various tracks by David Morales & Frankie Knuckles, Masters at Work, Tony Moran, Jason Nevins and Tony Humphries. And if you forgot the big singles, the album also includes the #3 hit "I Get Lonely" and the chart-topper, "Together Again". Along with the music, HD video releases for several tracks will go live that same day: "Go Deep," "I Get Lonely," "You," "Got 'Til It's Gone," and "Together Again [Deeper Remix]."
