Joan Jett has been confirmed for the annual Light of Day festival, which will be virtual this year. Joan had a hit with the Bruce Springsteen-penned song in 1987, but this will be the first time she’s ever performed it at the festival, although her performance was filmed at her home.
The annual festival usually takes place in Asbury Park New Jersey, and raises money for the fight against Parkinson's and related diseases continues.
This year the three-day fest is titled “Winter Love Fest 2021,” and will run from February 12th to 14th. The virtual event will feature new performances as well as greatest hits from the past two years. Other artists on the bill include Joe Grushecky, Willie Nile, Jesse Malin, Dramarama, , Jill Hennessy, Jeffrey Gaines, Low Cut Connie and more.
- The song “Light of Day” comes from the movie of the same name, which starred Jett and Michael J. Fox. The song has been performed at past festivals, with Fox performing it with Springsteen and Grushecky at the Stone Pony in 2003.
