A pair of John Lennon’s iconic round glasses are going on the auction blocks. The pair in question were given to Fred Benton, a worker at the St. Regis Hotel in 1971.

The Windsor spectacles were given to Benton by Lennon for his 21st birthday, after they became friendly while John was staying at the hotel with wife Yoko Ono. When Benton passed in 2014 his son got them and he sold them to a collector, who is now selling them.

Omega Auctions, of Newton-le-Willows, is set to auction off the pair, which is expected to go for around $20,000. The auction is set to go down April 26th

  • ONE MORE THING! Showbiz 411 reports that an official Lennon biopic is close to happening. The site reports that the film will be produced by Yoko and her son Sean Ono Lennon, adding that Julian Lennon is also on board for the project. The screenplay is said to be finished, written by “Bohemian Rhapsody” screenwriter Anthony McCarten. The film is expected to include five key Lennon/Beatles songs, but producers will have access to all Beatles tunes.
