Maybe we should file this under “TMI?” Lionel Richie has confirmed a long-standing rumor that he wrote one of his most successful hit songs… on the toilet.

Kenny Rogers first spilled the proverbial beans about the Richie-penned song “Lady” in 2014. “We were in the studio recording the song, and I said, 'Where's the second verse?'” confessed Rogers. “And they said, 'Lionel's in the toilet writing them right now.” Now Richie admits that after the late singer threw him a curveball, he did what he had to do.

Claiming Rogers changed his mind while singing “Halfway To Alabama” in the studio and decided to sing “Lady” instead. “"Now, what he didn't know was I only had written the first verse of 'Lady.' I said, 'Excuse me for a minute. Fast-forward a few minutes: "I'm sitting in the stall writing the second verse to 'Lady.'" Check out the classic hit “Lady” on the right.
