There’s less than a week until Valentine’s Day, but you don’t have to empty your wallet to show your love. And it turns out, some places in the country are better for celebrating the holiday than others.

  • They rated the 100 largest cities in the country on 25 metrics related to the holiday, comparing them on everything from the number of florists to the cost of a three-course dinner for two to the average movie ticket price.
  • Factors were grouped into four categories - Budget, Activities, Gift Accessibility and Weather.
  • So where is the best place for romance on Valentine’s Day? San Francisco tops the list, coming in first for activities, fourth for budget, seventh for gifts, but 93rd for weather.
  • Fremont, California, 24th overall, is number one for budget, while Miami, 23rd overall, is first for gift accessibility, and the best weather is in New Orleans, which is 70th overall.
