Traveling the world is one thing, but you don’t really know a place until you actually live there. If you’ve always wanted to see what life is like as a resident of an international city, new research can help you find the best one. The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) has just come out with their Global Liveability Index, which ranks the world’s most liveable cities.
- The EIU rates 173 cities around the world on factors that define livability: stability, health care, culture and environment, education and infrastructure.
- Vienna, Austria, tops the list, holding on to its first place spot from last year, and it was also number one in 2018 and 2019.
- The European city gets high marks for its reliable infrastructure, impressive education and health services, as well as its culture and entertainment.
- No U.S. city made the top 10 this year, the highest ranking U.S. city is Honolulu, Hawaii’s largest city, which is number 25.
- Damascus, Syria, is at the bottom of the list, making it the least livable city, followed by Tripoli, Libya.
