Not surprisingly, Mariah Carey is enjoying “All I Want For Christmas Is You” being number one on the charts again. The song logged its ninth total week atop the Billboard Hot 100, becoming the first song to lead in four separate years on the chart.

The singer posted her celebration on Twitter. “YAYYYYYYY!!!! Such an amazing surprise and an early Christmas gift!!! Thank you so much!!!,” Carey wrote, including a string of emojis throughout her post including 12 party hats, a heart, a Christmas tree, a snowflake, a present, a purple heart, and a butterfly. The singer included a photo of herself where she sat at the end of a very long dining room table with her hands in the air in triumph.

Did you know, according to a study from the Economist, Mariah makes $2.5M a year from “All I Want For Christmas Is You” alone!? The study goes on to say that by 2017 the singer had earned over $60M in royalties for her hit song since its debut in 1994. Since its release, the track has sold an estimated 10 million copies, officially making it a Diamond-certified song. As of 2022, just 92 songs in history have been certified diamond.
